That’s right, the #11 Keychain cameras that we all know and love have been improved upon, and quite a bit it seems! Tom Frank has been working with the developers of the #11 and they’ve announced the new #16, which is for sale already. Be sure and check out the RCGroups thread, Chuck’s page, and the listings on eBay!
Notable changes and improvements include connectors for the battery and CMOS module, meaning easy replacement or upgrades later, improved light handling, less vignetting in the corners, sharper video, less oversaturated colors, less white balance “hunting” with changes in lighting, etc. There’s a full list on the eBay listings linked above. Also, check out this video comparing the #11, the #16, and the #16 with some editing.

Last but not least is the awesome software that Isoprop has written for the #16, which includes a nice manual explaining all the camera’s features, as well as a configuration utility to change settings in the camera. There’s a lot of them too! Be sure to download the printable version of the manual to read over for a full list of camera specs and features. Get them here!
Needless to say, my camera is ordered and on the way! I’m expecting to see if after New Years with it coming air mail from China during the holidays, so keep an eye out for that! I’ll be sure to post a review after it arrives!

Hi Keith,
I am considering this camera for an option on some of my wings where a replay or go pro is not applicable.
Have you received the #16 yet?? If so what is your opinion of it??
What is the weight?
What if anything will I have to do to make it FPV’able?
I figured rather than go through a bunch of threads I would go directly to someone who’s opinions I respect.
Thanks Man,
Sean

Hey Sean,
Yeah I’ve been using the #16 a bit lately. At first it wasn’t all that great, there were some bugs in the firmware, but those have all been worked out now and I’m pretty happy with it! I haven’t used it in the air a lot, but I did get a couple of videos. (the last Peace Drone video with HD footage was with the #16) I’ve used it on the ground to film planes in air too, which works pretty good. Scan through the thread at RCGroups and watch some of the sample videos, if you like what you see, grab it!
It’s no GoPro, but for the price I think it’s hard to beat. The #11s are still good cameras too, but overall I think I prefer the 16.
